Tower Maintenance

If its vertical steel then it needs maintenance.  Towers move under load and wind.  If they were absolutely rigid then no work would be exerted on the structure an so no maintenance would be needed but that’s not the case.  My high school physics teacher first enlightened me regarding the definition of work.  Work equals force exerted or a distance (W=F x D).  Towers are under almost constant small scale work as they twist in even a light breeze.  Constant work over years loosens hardware, slacks guy wires and breaks insulators.  In this picture we are replacimg a guy wire insulator and replacing the tower lamps.
