Guy wires, Antennas & Fun on the Coast

It’s tough to beat a coast job despite the bad weather. The view from above the tree line never disappoints. Our construction task for moving a broadcast station was four fold. Replace the top four guy wires with stronger wires with electrically insulated rods. Install a 4 bay ERI antenna and coax. Install an STL antenna and coax. Sweep and tune the antenna for resonance. All went well when the sun was shining. Sun was always short lived giving way to downpours from time to time. Thankfully, the little red hoist made short work of heavy lifts so we were able to work inbetween the squalls. We finished the job at 7:00 PM and packed up in the dark and the rain. I’ll never pass up a job on the coast. I’m happy to say that although a little wet it was still fun.
